New Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) replaces AAT
The new Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) has commenced operations, 14 Oct 2024.
It replaces the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) as the federal administrative review body that conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies.
The ART will be user-focused, efficient, accessible, independent and fair.
The commencement of the ART marks a significant reform to Australia’s system of administrative review.
